Community Service College Connection
Community Service may be required for High Schools, College Admissions, Scholarships and even companies require documentation of volunteer efforts when applying.
Many college scolarships are based on a combination of good grades and a varied volunteer background. Some are based soley on service and we will continue to research these opportunities and post them to SVL website.
Every scholarship has it's own criteria regarding volunteer efforts.
Check with your guidance counselor.....scholarship rules change frequently.
We encourage LINK volunteers, special events, group projects, and individual efforts and leadership training throughout middle school and high school. Report all volunteer work performed through school, music, sports, church, scouts and other clubs
When an award or scholarship opporunity becomes available, you'll have a complete file from which to pick the volunteer efforts that are appropriate for that particular scholarship...and remember that even though you are not being compensated...you're learning marketable skills. When you apply for your first job, ask for letters of reference. We are happy to provide them for LINK volunteers.
